About The McMakens
Bonnie and Trevor met in college in 2003 and having been serving the church, writing, and making music together ever since. Along the way they got married and started a family. They have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.
Trevor McMaken
Trevor is a pastor at Church of the Resurrection, an Anglican, Evangelical, and Charismatic church in Wheaton, IL. He handles Resurrection’s online and print communications, their media production teams, and he helps lead the Pastoral Care ministry. He has an MDIV from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Trevor has a passion for pastoring artists in the church and equipping them to grow in their gifts and in their relationship with the Lord, and releasing them to serve the church and the world with their creativity. His primary artistic medium is music. Trevor has a BM in Composition from Wheaton College and has extensive recording studio experience as a producer, engineer, arranger, and performer.

Bonnie McMaken
Bonnie’s studies in Christian Formation and music at Wheaton College gave her rich insights about how we learn, grow, create, and express our deepest human emotions. A writer with an editor’s eye, Bonnie combines creativity with craft as she enlivens the mundane and explores the divine. Her first post-college job was at Christianity Today International, where she further unearthed her love for words. Now as a freelance writer and editor, Bonnie’s written work has appeared in RELEVANT Magazine, Neue Magazine, Kyria, ChristianBibleStudies.com,SmallGroups.com, RELEVANT.com, and GiftedforLeadership.com.
Bonnie has been leading worship at Church of the Resurrection since 2005 and has also lead worship at many other churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries. She brings a depth and openness to her music that invites others into God’s presence and creates a safe place to experience the work of the Spirit.

The McMakens
Together, Bonnie and Trevor form the husband and wife singing duo The McMakens. They met in 2003 and quickly began developing their unique style of timeless songwriting, lush instrumentation, and evocative vocals. In 2009 they released their debut album titled “Sleep Easy”, a collection of 9 original songs and 2 traditional folks songs. “Mockingbird” was featured on The Indie Handbook’s list of “Best Songs of 2009.”
They followed up “Sleep Easy” with an EP of original worship music in 2010 called “In Wilderness and Glory” that was released for free and included charts and music for all 6 of the tracks.
They are currently in the midst of a year-long series of house shows with their band, promoting songwriting and new artists in their local community. The series is culminating with several recording projects due to be released in late 2012.
